Celebrating it’s 80th Anniversary this year, the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo ramps up August 15th thru the 23rd with plenty of fun and excitement.

As everyone knows, everything in Denton County comes to a hault during the North Texas State Fair, and this year, will be no different as plenty of great fun, entertainment, and excitement hits the North Texas Fairgrounds.

Some of the special attractions this year includes “Pet’s Overboard”; a 25 minute showcase of talented animals who joined the cast from local shelters and rescue organizations, “Spirit Of The Horse”; an eductional and informational demonstration hosted by Robert M. Liner, and “The Pee Wee Rodeo”; where young rodeo stars grab thier stick horses for Grand Entry, Buck Riding, Barrel Racing and more.

There will be plenty of fun and games, contests, and more throughout the fair.  As well as top notch entertainment every day throughout the fair.  This year’s headline attractions include Stony LaRue, David Ball, Blue Edmonson, Johnny Cooper, The Randy Rogers Band, Reckless Kelly and Restless Heart.

Other live entertainment scheduled to perform include The Walk Wilkins Trio, The Mike P. Band, Electric Cowboys, Brian Burns, Brian Houser, Holli Williams, Charlie Shafter, Josh Abbott, Chance Cody, The Ida Road Band, Rodney Parker, Two Tons of Steel, and Corb Lund.

The Rodeo kicks off with the PRCA Rodeo on the 15th, Invitational Ranch Rodeo on the 18th, the 21 and Under Rodeo on the 19th and 20th, Bull Blowout on the 21st and 23rd, and ending it all with the NBBA Classic on August 23.

The North Texas State Fair and Rodeo has been celebrating “The Cowboy Way” since 1928.  Volunteer supported, the organization preserves and promotes western heritage and values.  All revenue from the fair is reinvested into various programs, scholarships and facilities that work towards helping to preserve various community, agricultural, and youth oriented programs throughout the year.
