Gardening in South Carolina has its unique challenges, especially cultivating plants that can survive the summer heat and humidity.  It is important to understand the differences between the upstate, midlands, and lowcountry and select appropriate plants.  The Clemson Master Gardener program trains community members to assist residents in managing their gardening issues and this website was developed by a student in the Master Gardener class of 2010.  It is based on research from Clemson University and it's Home and Garden Information Center, plus personal experiences.
